1. Practice the Golden Rule
The Golden Rule is just as important today as the day you learned it; treat others the way you’d like to be treated. So take a step back and notice the dynamic you have with your clients and coworkers. Are there things they do, whether in their communication style, their reliability, or how they manage their time, that really irritate you? If so, make sure you are not doing those things to them! Every single day you should act exactly how you would want your clients to treat you, and soon the power of a smile and a good word will go far.
2. Hold Hands
At the end of the day, you and your team are all in this together. So hold hands and stick together because you all have the same goal in mind. Leave no one behind and make sure they are following to the best of their ability; if one person fails, help to pick up the pieces as a team.
3. Share Because You Care
The more, the merrier when it comes to information sharing in marketing. Never keep secrets, and as soon as you have new information, hold a meeting and share it with your team and then spread the news to your clients. The sooner this happens, the faster your team will communicate, build trust, and work efficiently.
4. Don’t Interrupt
Always raise your hand politely and never interrupt when talking. This goes for conversations both in a group and individually. The easiest way to communicate is when each person takes time to listen mindfully, repeats what has been said, so there are no miscommunications, and asks follow-up questions. Then only share when it is your turn — by doing so, you’ll soon realize how productive and efficient your conversations can be.
5. Clean Up After Yourself
You may be thinking, “How can cleaning up affect my marketing when everything is done digitally?” The answer is easy, we mean cleaning up properly so you can accurately duplicate a project. If you have come across a successful way of doing something, make sure that everything is documented, recorded, and filed away in their specific place with your team and clients. And keep everything and anything you can! Think of it this way; the more information you have, the easier it will be to see what is and isn’t working while giving you an idea of what to do next.
